DCTRD - Carbide Drill, Tap Removing, Spade Type
Designed to cut out broken taps these drills have an even greater negative rake than the spade drills to tolerate entry into an uneven surface. Cut dry with an air blast to cool, at about 2,000 rpm. Sustain cutting action but clear swarf regularly. Break away remaining portion of tap with sharp implement during progress of cut. Take care to use a rigid machine and secure work-holding fixture.
